Bore-sighting at home saves me ammo and range time. I lock my rifle in a rest and either take out the bolt or just look down the barrel. I line up the crosshairs with something about 25 yards away and I make some quick scope changes before I hit the range to dial it in. How do you do it?

I do the same thing, remove bullets first, take a rest and use a laser or check with my eye at 25 yards, then make small adjustments at the range

That’s a good routine. I use a Laser bore sighter too and then I make small changes at 25 yards.

I usually take out the bolt, steady the gun, find something far away and then adjust my scope to that before I shoot.

Easier way: sight in at 25 yards. Aim for center of bullseye. place your cross hair on the impact hole on your target. Holding rifle steady on the impact hole, dial your scope windage and elevation until your scope cross hair makes it over to your original center of bullseye hold on your initial shot. Then shoot a 2nd shot to verify. Works almost very time. Hope this helps.
