New management took over and suddenly everything's a safety violation. We can't draw from a holster, can't do rapid fire, can't shoot anything they deem 'too loud,' and the RSO stands behind you critiquing every shot. I get safety, but when the rules make it impossible to actually train, it's time to find a new spot

Time to find a new range. I shoot at Londonderry Fish & Game. I love this place. They have a 400 & 200 yard ranges. Our 25 & 50 ranges you are allowed to go forward and draw, etc. (Provided you are the only ones on that range). All ranges are outside. They currently have a waiting list, so it might take a year to get a membership.

Sounds like this r s o really lose up to the stereotype. You know, the kind who never made it is a drill instructor so now he's desperately trying to cling to that fantasy by treating his position as if that's what it is l o l

Please keep in mind that the shooting sports have gained many new shooters over the past several years, many of whom have absolutely no knowledge of firearms and/or firearms safety........and many possess no common sense either. Also many liability insurance companies are now paying more attention to how clubs and shooting ranges operate especially from a safety stand point. With that being said, it has driven clubs and shooting ranges to become more strict in their range rules and enforcement. It is not the good old boy's shooting clubs/ranges any more. Shooters and members of clubs need to attend their club meetings to see some of the issues/problems that go on behind the scenes on the ranges as it will be an eye opener. Also be patient as these new shooters add to the pro gun crowd when elections and legislation comes up. Remember we , the shooters, make our shooting sports safe.

I'm also a member and agree with you. Great club, no BS tolerated, so you can really enjoy shooting there.
