Sunflower seeds keep me awake better than coffee on long drives. I'll go through three bags on a six-hour trip. Everyone has their road trip snack. What's yours that you can't do a long drive without? Beef jerky? Energy drinks?

A big thermos of hot coffee. Pepsis in a cooler of ice. Spicy jerky of all kinds: beef, venison, buffalo, etc. Trail mixes (gorp). Sandwiches: bologna, roast beef, chicken salad, PB&J. No favorites really. I'll pack 'em all.

As soon as it gets warmer down south I'll be going on a 3-4 wk solo travel trailer journey south then west. I've longbow hunted pigs in TX before. This time I think I'll bring my 75 cal flintlock blunderbuss and 54 cal Great Plains Rifle. TX loves out of state hunters coming to kill as many hogs as they can. Non-resident, non-game hunting licenses are inexpensive and you can get them at every sporting goods store, even at Walmart.

I stick with trail mix and apples. The sweetness and crunch keep my hands busy and my energy up. Jerky just makes me thirsty too fast on long drives.
