What’s an overrated caliber in your opinion?

People go nuts over the .223 for just about anything but I don't think it works well for bigger animals (I stand corrected)

That's a strong opinion, I reckon the 6.5 Creedmoor gets too much praise. Sure, it's good but everyone forgets how well a .308 or .270 still does the job. You spend more for tiny benefits.

I think the magnum pistol calibers are overrated. Unless you're using one to flatten the trajectory and stretch the effective range for hunting deer, the 357 Mag, 41 Mag, and 44 Mag are too much gun. Self defense, practice, and plinking are much easier with non-magnums.

I've bagged deer from ground blinds with a 1911A1 45 ACP and an Italian repro Single Action Army 45 Colt using 230 gr and 255 gr RNFPs. They worked fine.
