Naming guns seems weird to me honestly

I see people naming their rifles and it feels odd. It's a tool, not a pet. I don't name my tools or my truck. What's the point? Someone explain why you do this because apparently lots of people do. What makes you want to name your guns?

I kinda think of guns as tools, each with its own feel, you know? Naming them? Not my thing. If someone's into it, cool, but I just don't feel the need.
